Colombia’s Andean music has been described by some as a quiet expression of the subdued peasants of that country’s mountainous regions. In fact, bambucos, pasillos, torbellinos and guabinas, Andean dances based on indigenous, African and European influences, boast the same joyful, feverish drive of better known counterparts like cumbia and currulao.
It is this essential liveliness which has inspired the band Tibaguí. Loaded with inspiring compositions, the quartet takes the folkloric rhythms through a journey of improvisation and energetic performances, bringing together tradition and innovation.
Come join us for this great event featuring award winning performers Túpac Mantilla, Jorge Roeder and Sam Sadigursky in a quartet led by guitarist/composer Alejandro Flórez.
